Having in mind that cyber criminals are already carrying out attacks utilizing the #covid19 
pandemic scare, and taking into account rise in off-premise devices, it is to be expected that the number of attacks will increase rapidly, which we are already witnessing. 
We provide you with couple of recommendations, which you and your company shall implement in order to remain safe in these challenging circumstances.

 

1. When working from home, use only the equipment provided by your company, which is regularly updated.

 

2. Use a proven and well-known EDR solution, in order to be able to fight the most advanced malware.

 

3. Use VPN to protect data that is exchanged between core systems and employees working from home. That extra layer of security enables you to hide data from prying eyes during transmission over unsecured networks.

 

4. Teach employees about basics of cybersecurity. Put focus on phishing e-mails, avoiding public Wi-Fi networks, security of home router and devices used to conduct business activities. It is certain that      phishing campaigns in such circumstances will increase. They should be careful and shall not open email messages from unknown sender. Self-installation of applications has to be forbidden at all times.

 

5. Update the OS and all applications regularly.

 

6. Manage the passwords.It is desirable to use and enforce strong passwords for access to corporate services, in accordance with strict security policy.

 

7. Only use secure and verified cloud services.

 

8. Change default passwords for your Wi-Fi router. Make sure you do the backup.

 

9. Avoid using removable memory devices (USB, memory cards etc.).
